after breakfast i started doing the dishes and the girls said you dont have to do that
tomorrow youre going to tell your boss about this place and i looked at karisa
and she didnt say anything and i said well we dont have to leave the place all messy.
what if they call off work tomorrow and we dont have to go in
or what if the boss gets one of those mysterious flus going around
or what if something happens to the paperwork about the keys we found in the stolen car.
mimosas were poured and someone discovered
a glass tobacco water pipe thing that i had never seen before
and lo, tobacco. these people had been serious about their habit.
and i had never actually smoked tobacco from a water pipe before
and it was legal, so i did it. it was the first thing that i had actually done
since i was served my breakfast on the couch, complete with pulp free oj.

i saw that my camera was being charged and i said
did you guys take any pictures and they said yeah
and i saw this one that someone took as the sun was rising
in the earliest hours of the morning.
and once again i remembered that reporters do their job
because not everyone can be where they are.

and no way in hell was i going to be awake at that ungodly hour
on a sunday in the valley on the official day of rest.
