charles bukowski wrote
a better novel in "post office" than any one has ever written
about working at a job ever. only studs terkel came close and all studs
did was stick a microphone into interesting people's faces.
layne says
he reads the la times but he lies. all writers lie. and the times is
full of lies. the columnist who wrote about the atlantic monthly lied
about reading the article too.
my problem with all
these lies: only layne's is interesting. a lie about reading a newspaper.
imagine that! biggest lie he told: that he only read five pages of Don
Delillo's "Underworld."
invite the Citizen
over to your house and put that one or "White Noise" on the
bowl of your can and he'll come out holding it up and he wont stop talking
about it, not even to wipe the opium ash from his beard.
