even though the food at the marriot was terrific and even though we bought groceries and filled up the fridge
and even though the fast food places were inviting, clipper girls cousin had never been to pf changs
so we went to a shopping center in palm desert called The River and got there just as the sun
was setting, and we had lettuce wraps and three shrimp dishes and one scallop dish
and a few round of drinks and generally pleasant, adult conversation
and tipped our glasses to the fates which have looked down on us and
blessed us nearly every day whether we deserved it or not.
and once again pf came through except this time
a little moreso because of the great service.
which is ironic because the worst service ive ever had
at a pf changs was at their beverly hills location where
more than one occasion we had to wait and wait and wait
for this or that to come out of the kitchen or for the check
or for drinks which shouldn't be the case since the servers only serve
and the waiter only waits, etc. but this time the waitress was so good
and so patient and maybe it had to do with the fact that she was a little older
and wiser and smarter and better.
which isn't to say that they didn't have hottie hostesses
which has become de rigor among my favorite chinese chain.
the river pf changs may have had a bar. if they did i didn't see it.
and it definitely wasn't showcased the way it is at the beverly center
or to a lesser extent in santa monica, but somewhere they got me
my Chinese beer and baileys and 151,
and where ever they went to get it
i would like to thank cuz it hit the spot.
