nothing in here is true

it's gotta be a dissappointment to the instapundit that his newest whipping boy sandy berger stepped down today from his volunteer position as foreign policy adviser to would-be prez nominee John Kerry.

berger of course bailed amid leaks that came out this week that a year ago he made "an honest mistake" by taking documents out from the National Archives while he was reviewing materials for the 9/11 commission.

documents which he returned

last year.

the way the blogfather is covering this story you'd think that what Berger did was as bad as President Bush redacting 28 pages from the original 9/11 congressional report.

isnt censoring 28 pages of the first 9/11 report worse than taking pages and returning them?

a topic you'd think someone who is serious about covering the 9/11 commission reports would be interested in.

but our hero in tennessee is as predictable as drudge. its all partisan, and thats too bad.

i admit that what Berger did was bad. and uncool. and sneaky. and curious. and Berger and Kerry also admitted it by letting him step down.

can we expect the same sort of treatment of the President regarding the redacting of the 28 pages?

somehow i doubt it.

so now Instapundit can go back to beating the Joe Wilson dead horse, while continually igorning the white elephant of Robert Novak who helped blow the cover of Wilson's wife, the undercover CIA agent who was outted once Wilson became critical of the president.

and again i scratch my bald head and ask aloud, which is the more serious crime? Joe Wilson or Robert Novak et al?

and unlike the others, as a true moderate, as a true independent, im willing to say that all of it is fucking bullshit beneath the good name of of american politics. but seriously, isnt it worth even a tenth of the pixels that the number one blogger wants to dedicate to the Wilson issue to say, btw fuck Novak and fuck people who wish to blow the cover of undercover CIA agents.

which could very easilly be the difference between life and death. particularilly while we were at war. especially when the leaks come from anonymous white house staff? what about if the leak was from a senior white house official who was trying to expose Wilson's wife to up to six different reporters, Novak being the only one who bit? Novak, of course, writing from the FOX/Murdock-owned Sun-Times?

does indy prostest too much?

no.

he just doesnt protest equally. or against the bigger crimes.

and thats a crying shame cuz he's better than that.

perhaps he thinks that his readers (or advertisers) arent interested in both sides.

mine are.
